This past April community volunteers worked together to improve the appearance of the Oyster Bay US Post Office landscaping. Last week a banner announcing extended hours for the Post Office was removed. Workers discovered beautiful carved letters beneath this, saying "United States Post Office, Oyster Bay, New York." Other improvements that have occurred since April include better maintenance of the lawn, planting of flowers by the entrance, and repair of the lamp post pictured to the left of the entrance above. While this change has been gradual and incremental over time, one gets a sense of direction with this all - positive change is underway in downtown Oyster Bay.
